Items that Candidates Allowed in the Exam Hall

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2024 Session 2 examinations will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) between April 4 and April 12. Along with the JEE Main admit card download link for Session 2, NTA released the testing guidelines that candidates need to follow.

Students must follow the JEE Main exam day guidelines specified by NTA to appear in the NTA JEE Mains Session 2 examination. The guidelines of JEE Main 2024 ensure fair conduct of the examination. The National Testing Agency mentions the JEE Main exam day guidelines on the JEE B.Tech admit card. Candidates can get more clarity about the exam day and what to carry, what not to carry, do’s and don’ts, information related to question paper, reporting time and so on.

What To Carry To JEE Main 2024 Exam Centre

Remember to check all the necessary items before leaving for the examination centre including:

Necessary documents

Candidates should remember to carry their JEE Main admit card, along with self-declaration downloaded from the NTA website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.

Additional photograph, to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

Identification proof such as Aadhaar card or PAN Card.

Students can also carry their city slip with them, however, it is not necessary.

Things allowed in the exam hall

Students can carry a transparent ballpoint pen.

Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), if required.

A transparent water bottle.

Special privilege: Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/ orange) and transparent water bottles to the test centre. However, they will not be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolates/candy/sandwiches etc.

What Not To Carry JEE Main 2024 Exam Centre

Stationary: Do not carry any stationery including pen, paper, pencil, textual material (printed or written material)pencil box, geometry box etc. Pen/ Pencil and blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination room.

ID Cards: ID cards issued by schools/ colleges/ universities/coaching centres will not be considered as valid ID. Even photocopies or images stored in mobile phones will not be accepted. Thus, do not carry any of these.

Eatables: Do not carry eatables (loose or packed) and water inside the exam hall. These will not be allowed.

Electronics/Gadgets: Any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices will not be allowed in the exam hall. This includes Mobile Phone, Ear Phone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder etc.  Aspirants will also not be allowed to wear/carry any type of watch including Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/ devices in the Examination Hall/Room.

Handbags: Candidates will not be allowed to carry any kind of handbag or purse.

Note: There may not be any provision for the safekeeping of valuables at JEE Main 2024 exam centre.

Remember that the exam will be conducted in two shifts: the first shift from 9 am to 12 pm and the second shift between 3 pm and 6 pm. Candidates can enter the examination center at 7:30 am for the morning shift and at 2 pm for the evening shift. After instructions from the invigilator, candidates can log in to read further instructions at 8:50 am for the first shift and at 2:50 pm for the second shift.
