NEET UG 2024: Counselling Process Starting in 3rd Week of July

The counselling process for NEET-UG 2024 will commence in four phases starting from the third week of July. This process marks the final stage for admissions into medical colleges.

The Centre has emphasized that any candidate found to have benefitted from malpractices during any phase or subsequently will have their counselling cancelled.

According to the Centre, a technical analysis by experts from IIT Madras on NEET-UG 2024 data revealed no widespread malpractice or abnormal score patterns localized to specific candidates.

Regarding calls for a re-examination, the Centre has dismissed them, citing concerns about burdening nearly 24 lakh candidates based on unsubstantiated suspicions.

Counselling Process:

Qualified candidates will be listed in an All India Merit List based on their All India Rank in NEET (UG) – 2024. Admissions to undergraduate medical courses will strictly follow this list and include existing reservation policies.

NTA will assign All India Ranks to candidates, while Admitting Authorities will manage counselling applications and compile merit lists based on these ranks. Admission decisions for undergraduate medical courses will be solely based on the All India Rank from the NEET (UG) – 2024 merit list within respective categories.
