Hindi is among the language subjects provided by CBSE (the Central Board of Secondary Education) for all its classes. It remains a mandatory subject until Class 8. However, starting from CBSE Class 9, students have the option to choose whether they want to continue studying this subject. In CBSE Class 11 and Class 12, Hindi is offered as both Hindi Core and Hindi Elective.

Several chapters have been removed from the revised Hindi Core curriculum, resulting in multiple deletions from the CBSE Class 11 Hindi Core syllabus.
