JEE Main Session-1 Exam 2024 : 29 January Shift-1 Analysis, Review & Question Paper with Answer Key

JEE Main 2024 Shift 1 ends on January 29. National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the JEE Main January 29, 2024 exam today at various centers in the country and abroad. JEE Main 29th January exam shift 1 started at 9 am and will end at 12 noon, shift 2 will start at 3 pm and end at 6 pm.

As per the schedule, JEE Mains 2024 (BE/B.Tech) Paper 1 exam is being conducted on January 29, 2024, in two shifts. The timing of 1st shift is from 9 am to 12 noon, and the timing of shift 2 is from 3 pm to 6 pm.

JEE Main 2024 Jan 29 Shift 1 overall analysis:

As per students’ reactions,

  • The overall paper was moderate to easy.
  • Maths was lengthy, tricky and also difficult in shift 1.
  • Physics was easy and formula-based.
  • Chemistry was NCERT based and easy. Students say it was CBSE Board exam level. 
  • Most of the questions in Chemistry came from organic chemistry. Physical chemistry was not lengthy. Questions came from metallurgy, ores, d block, bromination, biomolecule.
  • In Maths, many questions were asked from vector, 3D, integration, differential, limits, sequence and series, matrice, functions.
  • In Physics questions came from all topics equally. Semiconductors, Modern Physics, Atomic structure, galvanometer, thermodynamics, photoelectric effect were asked. Most questions were from 12th syllabus than the 11th syllabus.

According to the students’ responses, Mathematics moderate to difficult, Chemistry, Easy to Moderate, Physics was easy to moderate. Numerical type questions were quite long.

  • Chemistry was very easy, NCERT was enough
  • Mathematics was somewhat difficult, questions were as long as ever

JEE Main 29 January Shift 1 – Questions asked in Chemistry

According to students’ responses, in Chemistry maximum number of questions were asked from Aromatic, Organic Chemistry, 2 from Physical Chemistry

Chemistry questions came from metallurgy, detailed syllabus questions came from ores. Some students tried but some failed.

According to students, Mathematics paper was long, questions were asked from integers The total number of mathematics questions attempted by the average student ranged from 9 to 12.

JEE Main 29 January Shift 1 : Questions asked in Physics

2 questions from Galvanometer in Physics. Some students solved only 15 to 16 questions out of 25.

Physics questions in Shift 1 were formula based, Students found it easy in Physics.

JEE Main 29 January 2024 Shift 2 : Things to Carry 

  • JEE Main 2024 Admit Card downloaded from the NTA Website (a clear, preferably colour printout on A4 size paper).
  • One Passport size photograph (same as uploaded with the Online Application Form) is to be pasted on the Attendance Sheet at the Centre.
  • A valid Photo ID Proof in ORIGINAL (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/Aadhaar Card with photograph/E- Aadhaar/Ration Card/12th Class).
  • Candidates can also carry: Personal transparent water bottle and a simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
