The Ministry of Education has released the ninth edition of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 today, August 12. In the Management category, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is ranked first. IIM Bangalore follows in second place, and IIM Kozhikode is in third.
This year, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is ranked fourth, while IIM Calcutta is in fifth place.
The NIRF rankings are based on five main criteria set by the Ministry of Education: Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practices; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception.

NIRF College Rankings 2024 vs. 2023
In 2023, Miranda House was ranked first, followed by Hindu College. This year, the rankings have shifted, with Hindu College taking the top spot and Miranda House moving to second place. St. Stephen’s College has made a remarkable jump from 14th place last year to third place this year.
Rama Krishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College in Kolkata has also seen a significant improvement, rising from 8th position in 2023 to secure the 3rd spot this year. Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College has moved up from 6th place last year to 5th place this year.
St. Xavier’s College has entered the Top 10, achieving the 6th position. PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore, has climbed to 7th place, pushing Loyola College to 8th. Kirori Mal College has held its position at 9th place. Meanwhile, Lady Shri Ram College (LSR) is at 10th place, dropping from 9th last year.
Presidency College, Kolkata, which was ranked 3rd in 2023, did not make it into the Top 10 this year.
